Ladies Beware of Fake Uti – Uti Nwachukwu's Impersonator Scams gullible Women

Just yesterday, Nollywood actress Stella Damasus closed her Facebook page because “miscreants have been using my name for dubious reasons”.

On social media, a few our superstars also state that people are impersonating them; informing the public of the fake Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Today, actor/model/TV host Uti Nwachukwu contacted the BellaNaija Team to share and alert everyone about a man who is impersonating him via BlackBerry Messenger.

We’ll call the man Fake Uti.

Fake Uti asks ladies to send nude photos of themselves and money.

He follows Uti on Twitter and Instagram to get photos and update his BB status. Fake Uti adds naive girls and promises them deals with brands including Peak and Samsung.

He later asks them to send N60,000 to his account and nude photos, so he can “be sure they are HOT enough for the job”.

Uti also says the man makes sure the ladies sleep with the HR/PR of the company (which is actually Fake Uti) for the job.

The Nollywood actress and Nigerian footballer Mikel Obi have been announced as Amstel Malta ambassadors. They also featured in a movie produced by Amstal Malta, which is a story behind the success of the two super stars. 

At the 2014 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards – AMVCA, the TVC was unveiled for all to see.

According to sources, the very lucrative deal was signed earlier this year with the theme of the campaign created for them. No word on how long the deal is for.

Olu Jacobs And Joke Silva Talk About Each Other

The veteran Nollywood superstars had a sweet and quite emotional interview with Vanguard on their marriage, how they met and still keep the fire burning.

How I met my husband
I met him at the National Theatre while we were rehearsing for Jero’s Metamorphosis by Professor Wole Soyinka in 1981. I was to play Sister Rubeka  and he was playing the role of Prophet Jero and, at the same time co-directing the play. That was where we met.

What happened when I met him
People  had been talking about him before I arrived the country because he was based in the UK at that time.  Everybody was talking about him, especially Miss Ene, the then Artistic Director of the National Theatre and Dr. Ashiwaju. They had met in England and I guess he would have been the Chiwetel Ejiofor of that time. Just as what Chiwetel is to this present generation, so he was then.

He was one of the top African actors in England at that time, whether on stage or on screen. He was the talk of the town. So, I was looking forward to meeting him; when I finally saw him, he was quite a handsome man. Our first meeting, if I could remember vividly, I went to call Miss Ene to come and watch our rehearsal. They were in a production meeting, and, when I entered the office, the first thing he uttered was, “This is the woman I am going to marry.”

When I left the office, I said to myself, `How can anybody say it just like that?’ He  always insisted that I eyed him every now and then. We started out as very good friends. Four years later  we got married. We met in 1981 and married in 1985.

Genevieve Nnaji And Omotola Jalade Ekeinde Are Currently Jobless - Obi Emelonye Apologises For Saying That

Movie stars, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and Geneveive Nnaji are definitely not smiling at the moment as very few acting opportunities have come their ways.
According to movie Producer and Director, Obi Emelonye, this development is not due to the fault of the Actresses, rather they have become victims of their own success stories.

“Genevieve and Omotola are the two biggest Actresses we have in Nollywood, they cannot afford to charge less than their status and that is where the problem comes in. Their charges are probably above what the industry can afford. Their charges are like half of the entire production budget so which producer can afford that?” He told Nollywood Reporters.

Continuing, he said “What they can do now as it is with other big stars all over the world, is that they should begin to fund their own productions and act in them, they can act whatever role will enhance their brand. They need to start a production company now, and push themselves because they need to remain relevant and must not be seen as jobless. If corporate bodies perceive them as jobless, they won’t want to do business with them, and they might even price them cheap.”

It would be recalled that the two Acts have not been frequent in movies and the last one Genevieve did, Dr. Bello was a flop at the box office.  Also, Omotola has not done any major film in recent times, her last major movie was Last Flight to Abuja about two years ago.
She was however named one of the most influential people in the world by Time Magazine, a mention that made her the most talked about celebrity from Nollywood.

According to sources, the Hausa actor is set to go for a second wife. The wedding will take place next month in Kano.
It has been also gathered that Nuhu is taking his second wife from a rich family in one of the biggest emirates in Kaduna. His first wife Maimuna, who has given him two kids to her marriage, is said to be fine with this.
Nuhu, who hit limelight with his movie Abin Serrine, Dingala, Yana Yi, and Tasir, is known as one of the most scandal-free actors in the industry.
Currently, the actor is on location of a new movie titled hit “Rabo Ajali”.

Genevieve Nnaji Becomes Etisalat Ambassador in a N100M Deal

 

Genevieve Nnaji is the new brand ambassador for telecommunications company - Etisalat Nigeria. The deal is reportedly worth N100 Million.

The announcement was made at a press conference at the Wheatbaker Hotel in Lagos where other Etisalat ambassadors including Hakeem Kae-Kazim were present.

The Nollywood star will be the face of Easy Flex, a new package by the company.

Today, one paper will say Beverly is with this man, tomorrow another paper will say another thing, I don’t know.

You and your friend/former manager Charity Owoh reportedly fought over Bimp, how true? We are good; there is no issue between us. Yes, she was my manager but it’s just that we were mixing business with pleasure so I had to get another manager who is level headed and would take things serious that’s all. I’m hardly around so we don’t see each other most of the time.

Why Nigerian Entertainers Are Forced To Live Large -Iyanya

                             
Kukere crooner, Iyanya in a recent interview with Encomium magazine gave an insight into why some Nigerian entertainers are forced to live large.
 Excerpts…
“Why do you think some artistes come come up with hit songs and find it difficult to maintain it?”
“Music is very expensive. Most of them make money and its had to put it back in the same thing. Your next money is not guaranteed because there are lots of artistes. If you say you wouldn’t do show A, they can take artiste B for that show. It doesn’t mean that because you have a hit song, you would be performing at all shows. It doesn’t work like that. So, some of these guys, its hard for them. Its hard for them to follow up. Follow up is the hardest thing to do. Many artistes make a hit but the money they make from that hit is not even enough for them to support or sponsor the next video. So don’t blame them’.
So they need a lot of money to remain relevant?
“Yes. Let me give you an instance. I had a show here in Lagos, I was in Dubai. They made a mistake and booked my flight for Monday and the show was on Sunday. We rushed to the airport, they said no that my ticket was for the next day. After much pleading and explaining that I had a show that night in Lagos, they said alright.
I could board but not business class since it wasn’t my flight. I had to fly economy class with my business class ticket. Sitting down there, people around where staring at me like what am I doing here. A woman even walked up to me and said “Iyanya, you no suppose dey here now, na the other side you suppose dey”. What came to my mind next was that I can’t just decide to fly economy today, it will become gist. I have to work hard, I have to make money, to live up to your expectations. It’s not like am living my life for you but its the life I chose. So, I have to do it”.

TB Joshua Speaks Out On The Anti-Gay Law

                             
A highly-discussed bill against same-s*x marriages, which has recently been made law by President Goodluck Jonathan, caused reaction from Prophet T.B. Joshua.

 Speaking on the issue through a new initiative on his ministries official Facebook page, in which the cleric responds to people’s questions in an interactive session, he said:
“Judge not, so that you will not be judged,” Joshua began, citing Matthew 7:1 for Scriptural backing. “We should talk to people to be saved and not to die. I mean, we should talk salvation, not condemnation. The Bible is my standard,” he continued in the post to almost 900,000 fans.
The cleric proceeded:
“If my parents were one, I would not have been given birth to,” he proceeded poignantly. “Those that are asking this question – if your parents were one, you would not have been given birth to. You that are reading me – if your parents were one, you would not be reading this today. God bless the reader and the hearer.”

Karen Igho currently undergoing cancer treatment in the UK

Awww! I actually thought she was joking as usual when she tweeted about she having cancer. In December, the BBA winner and actress tweeted that she had cancer, and not much has been heard from her since then. At the time she was awaiting results that indicated she had breast cancer. It's been confirmed and she is currently undergoing treatment in a UK hospital. Get well soon dear!

Chocolate City, Brymo return to court Jan. 14

 

The lingering legal battle between Chocolate City Entertainment and artiste, Ashimi Olawale Ibrahim popularly known as Brymo comes up on the 14th of January, Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The case was adjourned until 14th of January, after the presiding judge was unavoidable absence at the court leading to the suspension of the case.

The case reportedly has been adjourned twice following the November 11 adjournment before this latest one.
However, the presiding judge wasn’t the only one missing as neither Brymo nor his counsel were available for the hearing leaving only Choc City’s counsel, C.O. Madubuko from L and A Legal Consultants the only party present.

The legal battle between the two is as a result of Brymo’s unceremonious exit from the record label.

Anyone can hold a grudge , but it takes a person with character and maturity to forgive. Kelly Handsome and M.I who have been engaged in a five-year old feud have buried the hatchet and let bygones be bygones.

The feud started when Kelly Handsome took acerbic shots at some popular Nigerian artistes years back. M.I who was an upcoming artiste as at the time wasn’t spared of the ‘Maga don pay’ crooner’s criticism .

This resulted in an exchange of hate tracks between Kelly Handsome and M.I.  According to reports, Kelly Handsome reached out to M.I and ended their five year old feud. The duo performed together on stage during the CARNIRIV festival last year.
