Dakore Akande comes back to Acting in Ashionye's movie

            

The talented actress who hasn't featured in any movie since her marriage in 2011 has finally returned to acting. Dakore Akande will feature in a new movie written and produced by singer/actress Ashionye Michelle Raccah titled 'Journey to Self'.


The movie also features Nse Ikpe-Etim, Ashionye Michelle Raccah, Katherine Obiang Edoho and Tosin Sido in lead roles. Other features include Carol King, Kalu Ikeagwu, Femi Brainard, Femi Jacobs and Chris Attoh, with the directorial talents of Tope Oshin Ogun.

'Journey to Self' was 13months in the making from inception. It is an intense story of friendship, sacrifice, empowerment and self-respect'. It is about four friends, Nse (Nse Ikpe-Etim), Regina (Ashionye Michelle Raccah), Alex (Dakore Akande) and Rume (Katherine Obiang Edoho) who lose a mutual childhood friend, Uche (Tosin Sido).


Uche speaks through a series of letters stirring her friends to a journey of self discovery... a 'Journey to Self'.

Two months ago, BN exclusively showed you behind the scenes photos of one of 2012′s anticipated flick“Single and Married” directed by Pascal Amanfo (4 Play and 4 Play Reloaded), with a line-up of Ghana’s most wanted entertainers including Yvonne Nelson, Chris Attoh, Nadia Buari, Afro neo-soul singer Efya, hip life rapper Tiffany, Kofi Adjorlolo, Kweku Elliot, Eddie Watson and Anita Erskine and Nigerian TV Presenter turned actress Tana Adelana. Oliver Twist music super star D’banjalso paid everyone a surprise visit on set and took photos with all.

Although no official synopsis has been made available online, here’s what we got from the trailer. The movie centers around 3 male friends, their sex lives, being single or married and all the in-betweens – the drama, the intrigue and the dirty little secrets.

Waje comes again with 'I Wish'

Waje is nothing short of a breath of fresh air whenever she blows us away with her vocal prowess. On her new single, “I Wish”, the vocal powerhouse takes a different route which, though its far from her comfort zone, appears to be very at home for her.

P'SQUARE’S LATE MOTHER TO BE BURIED ON AUGUST 2

The burial arrangement for Mrs. Josephine Okoye, mother of pop stars Psquare has been released.

A statement released from the singer’s camp says the body, which is currently in a Lagos private mortuary, will be laid to rest in her husband’s house at Ifite-Dunu, Akwa Village, Anambra State on Thursday, August 2, 2012.

Shortly before the burial, there will be a lying-in-state in Umunachi, Umudioka Village, Anambra State, and a church service at St.. Gabriel Catholic Church, before the proper burial at Ifite-Dunu, which will also be the reception venue.

The one day funeral, as we reported earlier, will be anchored by M.I.C.

Mrs. Okoye died around 11PM on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, about five hours after a heart surgery in Apollo Hospital, India.

May your soul rest in peace, Ma!

You can see these happening mostly in our modern day African countries, and of course, other continents of the world, but especially with the black children, who are the future hope of this great country and the continent of Africa.

M.I & Naeto C announced as this year's Hennessy headline artiste

Hip-Hop superstars and pop-culture icons M.I and Naeto C have been revealed as headliners for this year’s Hennessy Artistry. The historic collaboration between these two heavyweights that have each made an indelible mark on the Nigerian music industry, was orchestrated earlier this year by Hennessy Cognac, the world’s leading cognac brand.

In continuation of last year’s Hennessy Artistry formula, the two rappers have not only been engaged to tour the leading clubs in Nigeria, but also to conceptualize, write, record and perform a theme song that will drive this year’s project. This year’s Hennessy Artistry track will be followed by a music video that will air on TV media across Africa.

The announcement marks the start of what will be a wonderful and unforgettable experience for fans of the Hennessy Cognac brand and the very popular Hennessy Artistry initiative.

Not a stranger to the initiative, this is the third time M.I will be involved with Artistry. “In 2009 I supported the Hennessy Artistry urban music competition by headlining the Finale concert. In 2010 I was privileged to be part of the collaboration with Sir Shina Peters, and then last year although I wasn’t part of the official campaign, I was invited by Hennessy to travel to France with Banky W, Eldee and Jesse Jagz. This year, Storm 360 artiste Naeto C will join the likes of Eldee, Banky W, Tiwa Savage, Ice Prince,Nneka, Kas, Sir Shina Peters, Bez and Mo’Cheddah, and other prominent acts, who have been featured in the Hennessy Artistry initiative.

“It is going to be an experience you won’t forget in a hurry,” says Naeto C, the hip-hop impresario behind rave hits ‘Tony Montana’, ‘10 over 10’ and ‘Kini Big Deal’. “We are working night and day to see that this year’s Hennessy Artistry edition will be the best for Hennessy fans, music lovers and our fans.
