The search for Africa’s Next Hollywood Star kicks off this Sunday. ‘Sterling Bank – The Spirited Actor’ Series will bring to your TV sets 10 weeks of excitement and thrills as 10 hopefuls ; five from Nigeria and five from Ghana, struggle for the chance to Co-star in a Hollywood movie with Morris Chestnut and also get a one year contract with a Hollywood agent.

Canadian television journalist Tracy Moore will educate, enlighten, engage and drill the contestants on everything a world-class actor/ actress should know and do to get to the top.

Tune in to Africa Magic Entertainment this Sunday 21st April 2013 at 8pm and Sunday 26th May 2013 at 7pm CAT (Central African Time) respectively. Also tune in to Africa Magic on Sunday 4th August 2013 at 8pm CAT.

Afro Pop superstar, 2Face Idibia is set to hit the road this May 2013 for the eagerly anticipated ‘Campus Connect: 2face & Friends Tour 2013′. The artist will touring around Nigerian to perform at 5 campus communities in their tertiary institutions. And, after a lot of voting was involved for which school to be picked, here’s his tour schedule:

• University of Lagos – May 7
• University of Benin – May 9
• University of Port Harcourt – May 14
• Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu – MAy 16
• University of Abuja – May 23.

Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) 2013 holds tomorrow in Bayelsa

The 9th edition of AMAA with the theme: ‘Africa One’, got a record 671 films in competition with Francophone countries leading with entries. by Terh Agbedeh. The prestigious awards, regarded as Africa’s Oscars, held a superlative gala night in Malawi with the country’s President Joyce Banda was chief host, literarily bringing the country to a standstill. The icing on the cake for Malawi, little known for film, is that Flora Suya got nominated for the AMAA 2013 Prize for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her role in Last Fishing Boat, which walked away with four other nominations including the prize for Best Film.
