Tonto Dikeh blows a kiss to Bobie-E

     

    He is one of the best experiences the Nigerian entertainment Industry is having right now. A born Singer, Bobie-E doesn't blow much trumpet, but the little you hear proves he has got a lot to offer. He has recorded and released quite a number of songs, including 'Know Genevieve' which blew the mind of the super star actress.
Bobie-E now did a new song about controversial actress and singer Tonto Dikeh, and all Tonto could do in appreciation was to just blow a kiss..... lol.  

RMD denies N50M Scandal

Actor and Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Richard Mofe Damijo, has denied that he is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over his alleged involvement in a N50 million embezzlement scam.

In an article published by Encomium Magazine, RMD said ‘I won’t respond to Sahara Reports. When it’s time, I will. And I’m sure you know it’s not true.‘

The 51-year-old seems to be unfazed by the whole brouhaha: over the weekend, he stepped out to co-host Iyanya’s album launch, held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, with those who saw him saying he didn’t look a bit bothered.

Mnet's Tinsel And Jara studio burnt down

 Property worth millions of naira were consumed by fire on Saturday after studios belonging to MNET and Supersports located on the premises on Phillips Electronics Company caught fire.
Although the cause of the fire could not be ascertained as at press time, SUNDAY PUNCH learnt that the fire began around 3pm during productions at the Supersports.
The General Manager, Supersports, Mr. Felix Nwogu, said the channel was transmitting a live football match from Europe when the fire began, adding that four studios of the company’s studio were affected.
He said, “We were transmitting live matches from Europe when the fire broke out. The live studios cover the whole of Africa and of course subsequent productions will be affected.
“We called on the fire service and they responded on time but they were overwhelmed so they had to get more water. Thankfully no one was injured or killed but million-dollar equipment was completely burnt.”
The news of the fire quickly spread causing pandemonium in Ojota Bus Stop where the studios are located. Policemen and other emergency officials cordoned off the area to prevent looting.

Teju BabyFace spotted at VConnect's office

One of Nigeria's best comedians, actor, and TV host, Teju Babyface was just spotted at the office of Nigeria's largest Search engine 'VConnect' in Surulere. He was there with his Manager and other team members. All dressed in suits, 'Who knows what they had gone to do? Probably source for sponsorship from the company for the Teju Baby Face Show.

Teju got his first break in the entertainment industry when he featured in Tade Ogidan's "Diamond Rings" in the 90's alongside Richard Mofe Damijo, Bukky Ajayi, Liz Benson, and Shola Shobowale. Then he later tried his talent in Stage comedy, and successfully, he started up the renown TV show. He got married in 2012 to Tobi Banjoko.

This comedian, actor, and TV host does not look bad in person. Imagine how everyone wanted to take photographs with him at VConnect, an online business directory, and a subsidiary of the Tolaram Group of Companies, with Dufil (Indomie), Panabiz, Nobel Carpet, Hypo bleach as sister companies.

I’ve been formally appointed by the Kwara State University to head a business that was set up by the University known as the Malete Film Village. I would be building a movie studio from scratch and making it viable. Candlelight gathering Held In Remembrance Of Goldie

                  

It's exactly a week since Goldie died. She passed away on Thursday night shortly after she returned from the US where she attended the Grammy Awards on Sunday. The musician who is famed for her renaissance style, died at Reddington Hospital, in Victoria Island, Lagos.

A candlelight ceremony was held in her memory by her close friends and associates yesterday, Thursday. The ceremony was graced by the late singer's friends Denrele Edun, Prezzo, Karen Igho, Ola (of big brother) and so many more.

Nigerian Movie 'Doctor Bello' Makes History, Debuts In U.S. Theatres

                       
A Nollywood movie titled `Dr Bello' will be making history as the first Nigerian movie to debut in the U.S. theatres on Feb. 22, its producer, Mr Tony Abulu, has said.

Abulu on Monday in Abuja said that the movie would be released in the U.S. theatres from Feb. 22 to Feb. 27.

He said the movie, worth N150 million, would explore the foreign exchange potentials that abound in the U.S. film industry.

The development, according to Abulu, will also create a platform for other Nigerian movies to sell in the U.S. market.

Goldie's Autopsy Report Released - Died of hypertension

Report following the autopsy carried out after her  sudden death  at the Lagos State  University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos  revealed that the Kennis Music star, suffered a terminal ‘hypertensive heart disease’ which resulted to’ intracerebellar haemorrhage.’  The autopsy carried out February 19, was  signed by Dr. O.O Oyewole of the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine. Goldie's death was a very big shock to everyone. She died after returning from America where she attended the Grammy Awards.

Veteran Actor, Justus Esiri dies

                                   
It's another sad and tragic news for the Nigerian entertainment industry. Veteran Actor Justus Esiri has been reported dead last night, 19th February, 2013. The father of one of the Mavin super stars, Dr. Sid, started his acting career in the 80's when he featured in the popularTV series, Village Headmaster.

No details yet about the cause of his death, but will surely keep you guys posted on his report.

While still mourning his wife and preparing to come to Lagos, he was kind enough to speak exclusively with Nigerian Entertainment Today…

So sorry about your loss. And so sorry to be contacting you under this circumstance. Nigerians are shocked to discover, through your FB post, that Goldie was married. I’m wondering if you’ll able to give me more details, and if we can have your permission to print some of the photos in the folder ‘Memories of my darling wife’?

We wed in December 2005 and were very much married when she passed indeed I was talking to her on arrival in Lagos before the fateful event

I see you moved back to England. Do you have another family?
I work in Malaysia, we have a private home in UK, I do not have a second family

Also did you have kids together?
No kids, we were planning this year

What a sad news for Nigeria and Africa as a whole on a valentines day. Goldie Harvey was fine, just headache, probably she did not know she was going to say her last goodbyes yesterday night.

Here is an official statement released by the late Singer's label, kennis Music:

On behalf of Kennis Music, I’m sad to officially confirm the shocking and untimely passage of Nigeria’s pop star, Goldie Harvey. With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our darling music star, Goldie Harvey.

Goldie, 31, died on Thursday after she complained of a severe headache at her Park View residence shortly after her arrival from the United States where she went to witness the Grammy Award. She was rushed to her official hospital, Reddington, Victoria Island, Lagos, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

We consider this period a gloomy moment for us and the entire Nigerian music industry in view of the circumstance Goldie passed away, the abundance of talent she has exhibited in her but eventful music career and the various opportunities her trip to the United States of America would have availed her. She is survived by her father, step- mother, brothers and sisters. We deeply sympathize with her family and fans all over the world and very grateful to all and sundry, especially, the vibrant Nigerian media for their concern and prompt reportage. We shall keep everybody informed as events unfold as we are still devastated by the sudden loss.”

Meanwhile, the remains of Goldie, who hails from Ekiti State has been deposited in the mortuary of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos. Goldie represented Nigeria at the Big Brother Star Game in 2012. Her latest effort, she described as three nawti singles from her forthcoming African Invasion album are “Skibo”. “Miliki” and ” Got To Have It,” are presently enjoying heavy rotations on radio and TV stations across the continent. Burial arrangements will be announced by the family. May her soul rest in peace.
