Sources close to the Glo ambassador told entertainment express that the money was given to Ini Edo in order to help her build a state of the art film academy in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital.
According to our reliable source, Ini Edo presented a proposal to build a befitting film/arts academy in Uyo, as part of her contribution to the development of arts and culture in the state and Akpabio, having gone through it gladly accepted.
He added that after carefully studying the proposal, the likeable governor wasted no time in giving the Akwa Ibom state born actress his financial support and backing.
“Ini Edo has a big project in Uyo where she is planning to build one of the best film/arts academies in this part of the world. You know there has never been anything like that in our state and as such the governor gave her his blessing to make it a huge success”, he said.
When approached to comment on the deal with her state’s governor, the actress refused to speak. In her words: “I have no idea about what you are talking about, it’s an assumption.”
Meanwhile, in another development, Ini Edo has rubbished newspaper reports that she has been divorced by her American based husband, Philip Ehiagwina.
“The story is just the figment of some people imagination. Nothing like that ever happened. We are still together. We talk on phone almost on a daily basis since I returned from USA. Our marriage is solidly intact and nobody can put us asunder. This is the handiwork of jealous enemies of progress”, Ini Edo reportedly said.
