Tonto Dikeh set for her first stage performance as a singer




All eyes will be on no other person than controversial actress, Tonto Dikeh as several Nollywood and society personalities converge tomorrow at the main hall of TBS, Onikan for the year’s edition of Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards.
Tonto (or Tontolet as she is fondly called ) will perform for the first time at a major event before a quality audience. The Ikwerre, Rivers State-born thespian is expected to render her two songs entitled “Itz Ova” and “High.”
Yet the Petro-Chemical Engineering graduate of Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUTH) who incidentally nominee for Best Actress is not the only attraction at the event. BON Awards is scheduled to be hosted by the duo of Nollywood hunk, Nonso Diobi and actress, Mercy Aigbe with performance by other acts.
The fair-skinned thespian’s foray into music became a hot topic recently as she was heavily criticized and became a subject of mockery on several online platforms and social media.

But the actress is unperturbed. Hear her: “For all those who think I am going give up, I am not. I am going to get better. When I wanted to do music, I vowed that I want millions of people to listen to my songs.”
A source close to the star actress of controversial soft-porn movie entitled Dirty Secret ruled out a live band performance and revealed further that the actress will rely on soundtrack.
Seun Oloketuyi, CEO, Bon Awards justified the performance of Tonto Dikeh “In all my years, I have never met anybody who knows what she wants like Tonto Dikeh…in 24 hours, she broke a record of over 3.5 million downloads for a Nigerian song. I have listened to the song and I don’t think it’s as bad as people say it is.”
According to Oloketuyi, the event which is sponsored by Onga, a popular seasoning brand features a total of 37 award categories dominated by three movies Aiyekoto, Phone Swap and In The Cupboard.
